It's really a relief to see Cassandra well again, from a 50/50 chance of surviving, she is now back to her usual spritely self!
It's really a joy to see her wagging her tail and standing up to meet you every time you arrive.
When she was ill, I had to give her daily shots of anti-biotics and other meds. She was always lying on her side and sleeping. Everyday I tried to give her food but she refused to eat so I had to manually inject through the side of her mouth sugar mixed in water. This lasted almost a week, then one day, I tried to toss her a piece of doughnut and I was gladly surprised when she took and ate it, that was the start of her recovery. She also started to drink fresh water on her own from her bowl. The next morning I was happy to see her licking her body to clean her coat and she also started to take small amount of solid food.
Looking at her now, you wouldn't think that she was once sick and almost left us.
Cassandra survived!
