Finally, I got the courage to start blogging because our dog, Cassandra is very sick. I need an outlet of the stress I am currently undergoing.
Cassandra is an "Aspin" and about 5 years old. We brought her to the vet yesterday and sadly the vet gave her 50-50 chance of surviving. She is now on IV because she refuses to take in any food, liquid or solid. According to the vet Cassandra is suffering from Hepatitis, her skin are turning yellow. The vet put some medicines (vitamins) in the IV bag and she was also injected with antibiotics yesterday. I just gave her another shot this morning and changed the IV bag.
Cassandras' critical condition has made all of us in the house very concerned because we just lost one of our dogs about 3 weeks ago and the symptoms are very much the same. Macmac suddenly refused to eat one day and after a few days died and I noticed when we were burying him that his belly turned yellow.
Last week, Cassandra also refused to eat and so after a few days when we observed that she was turning yellow, we decided to take her to the vet.
Now we are hoping that she will survive. She is still not taking any food, but this morning she indicated that she wants out of her cage, and when I let her out, although woobly, she walked to the front yard and peed.
We surely hope that she will survive.
